Judi is a native New Yorker who grew up in Little Haiti, Brooklyn, and lives in Harlem/Washington Heights.

As an adult, she learned how to ride a bicycle in 2010. Her passion for biking led her to be a bike commuter, bike tourist, and advocate for bicycle infrastructure and awareness in Harlem and The Bronx communities. Between 2013 and 2017, she solo bike toured fully loaded, self-contained to experience cultures, history, and languages outside the USA. In 2018, she became a Master Composter and began a compost project at a Harlem community garden to serve as an organic drop-off site. She enjoys gardening, maintaining an Eisenia fetid [red wiggler] (worm) farm, and demonstrating decomposing organics.
